Work to start on Waterman Street, Old Bar

MidCoast Council

MidCoast Council will begin roadwork on Waterman Street, from Bryan Street to Belford Street, Old Bar on Monday 18 September.

The project includes refurbishment of the road pavement, kerb and guttering and stormwater drainage. It will also include extending the footpath, spray sealing and line marking. The works are expected to take three months to complete, weather permitting.

Changed traffic conditions and construction noise during this time may impact some residents, however work will only be undertaken between 7am and 5pm weekdays,” Council’s Director of Infrastructure and Engineering Services, Rob Scott, said.

During some stages of work the road will be reduced to one lane with traffic control measures in place. There will be a short period of road closure with detours in place when the pipe crossing works are undertaken. Motorists are asked to follow instructions, drive to the conditions and expect some delays.

“This is going to vastly improve this stretch of Waterman Street and we’re excited about the opportunities to restore road conditions in Old Bar.”

This project is jointly funded by the Regional and Local Roads Repair Program and Get Active NSW.
