Central Coast Council is undertaking construction of a new amenities building at Rogers Park, Woy Woy to provide improved sports infrastructure for the local community and sporting groups.
Central Coast Council Director of Community and Recreation Services, Julie Vaughan said an upgraded sports amenities will meet the needs of the Peninsula’s growing community.
“This new accessible sportsground amenities building will have ten toilets (male/female/unisex), an accessible toilet, a canteen with storage, two changerooms with showers, a referees’ room and three storage areas.” Ms Vaughan said.
“Our community have told us they value sporting infrastructure for the benefits they bring to the community that use these facilities. This new facility will encourage active and healthy lifestyles and create opportunities for important social connections.”
Central Coast Council Administrator Rik Hart said reaching this exciting milestone has been made possible through a collaborative partnership and funding from the Australian Government.
“This improved sports amenities building will help support local sports groups that make a valuable contribution to our community’s health and wellbeing and provide a facility where everyone can participate,” Mr Hart said.
“This is one of many open space and recreation projects being delivered this financial year for our region.”
Construction is scheduled for completion by the start of the winter sports season in April 2022 (subject to weather impacts).
This project is funded by the Australian Government under the under the Community Development Grants Programme for $800,000 and Central Coast Council for the remaining $550,000.

Council has also commenced construction to upgrade the sports amenities building at Adelaide Street Oval, Killarney Vale (Tumbi Umbi) which is home to Killarney Vale Bombers AFL Club and the greater community. This project is jointly funded by the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund, NSW Government’s Infrastructure Grants Program (provided to the Killarney Vale AFL Club), Central Coast Council and Australian Football League NSW/ACT (AFL Facilities Fund).
