The Territory Labor Government continues to deliver a common sense community safety plan.

Budget 2024 invests $570 million into Territory Labor Governments clear roadmap to making our Police Force the most efficient and effective in the country, including 200 more police, infrastructure upgrades and 25 new emergency call takers and cctv operators.

This week 11 new Police Auxiliary Officers have bolstered the Territory’s Police Force.

Seven new officers started in the Joint Emergency Services Call Centre in Darwin, alleviating 000 call backlogs and enabling police to attend your emergency quicker.

Four more officer have commenced duties in the Palmerston Watch House which has previously been manned by general duties officers at times, meaning more police will be back on your streets protecting your communities.

The now gradated Recruit Squad 86 and 87 are a part of the Territory Government’s push to get more police on our streets, with these graduates marking 83 new officers to join the force in 2024 so far.
