The Miles Government’s record police budget will deliver a $20 million upgrade of the Bundaberg Police Station.
The project is part of the state’s record $300 million police infrastructure budget.
It will deliver additional space to accommodate future growth as police undertake the biggest recruitment drive in Queensland’s history.
The Bundaberg region continues to grow as the state experiences major interstate and international migration.
A modern and well equipped Police station ensures the region maintains pace with growth and the Police force grows locally.
The expansion comes as the government’s community safety plan delivers a major uplift to the frontline.
An extra 900 extra police personnel will be deployed over the next three years, including 98 across the North Coast Police District. This district covers the Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast and Moreton regions.
This builds on the existing commitment to deliver 2,025 extra police personnel around the state by 2025.
In total, the Miles Government’s record investment is delivering more than 3,000 extra police personnel across Queensland.
The Miles Government is making a parallel record investment in infrastructure to ensure that police will have the facilities they need to accommodate a growing police service.
