WRX linked with murder investigation, South Australia

Detectives investigating the murder of a man at Para Vista in October have today released images in relation to a vehicle they are seeking information about.

Police allege a 46-year-old man was killed at a property on Carousel Street, Para Vista between midnight and 1am on Tuesday 9 October, with his body discovered when police went to the address on Friday, 12 October.

It will be alleged that a cannabis crop was stolen from the address, and was later seen being transferred from the victim’s car into a white commodore and another dark coloured car.

Three men have been charged with murder in relation to the incident, with one of those, a 31-year-old from Murray Bridge, due to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court today.

Today police have released an image of a cornflower blue WRX which they believe is linked with the crime.

Detective Superintendent Des Bray, the officer in charge of the SA Police Major Crime Investigation Branch, said police were keen to hear from anyone who saw the distinctive car between 8.04pm on Monday 8 October and 1.19am on Tuesday 9 October.

“In particular police are interested in where that vehicle was, and who was in it,” he said.

“We have identified the owner, but we would like to hear from anyone who may have dash cam of this vehicle travelling from Mt Barker summit towards Adelaide that evening.”

He added that people involved in collecting or conveying cannabis stolen from the property were also legally culpable for the murder.

“This investigation is proceeding very well, with every effort being made to identify all of the people involved in this matter and there will be further arrests,” he said.

Any member of the public or transport operators who may have been travelling along the South Eastern Freeway at the relevant time who may have dash cam video, or who can otherwise assist, are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
