Campaspe Shire Council is supporting the next generation of local creatives through the Unearthed Youth Arts Program 2026, a creative development initiative that will culminate in a public exhibition at The Foundry Art Space Echuca.
The program brought together young artists Elijah Beriman, Ayden Freestone, Emily Burgess, Jessica Knight, Oliva Lees and Saylah Tarrant for a series of creative gatherings, professional artist-led workshops and collaborative art-making opportunities throughout 2026.
Held every three weeks from March to September at The Foundry Art Space, the creative gatherings supported participants to conceive, develop and produce new artwork for An Embodied Nexus: The Menagerie exhibition.
The young artists also took part in creative workshop intensives, working with Lead Creative Facilitator Ellen Lee and Artist Facilitator Ethan O’Brien to build skills, explore ideas and develop work for exhibition.
An Embodied Nexus: The Menagerie will be held at The Foundry Art Space Echuca from Friday, 18 September to Sunday 25 October 2026, with the exhibition opening on Friday, 18 September from 5.30pm to 7:30pm.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell said the program was an exciting opportunity to celebrate the creativity, ideas and artistic development of young people across the shire.
“Unearthed gives young artists the chance to explore their creative practice, learn from experienced facilitators and share their work with the wider community through a professional exhibition.”
“Council is proud to support programs that create meaningful pathways for young people to build confidence, develop skills and contribute to Campaspe’s vibrant arts and culture scene,” Cr Mackrell said.
