Youth worker charged with sexual touching offence at Blacktown, NSW

A youth worker will face court today charged over the alleged sexual touching of a girl in Sydney’s west earlier this year.

In March (2020), detectives attached to the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports a 15-year-old girl was inappropriately touched by a female youth worker employed at her residence.

Following extensive investigations, a 34-year-old woman was arrested at Blacktown Police Station about 5.30pm on Friday 5 June 2020.

She was charged with intentionally sexual touch child (aged between 10 and 16).

Police will allege in court that the woman sexually touched the teenager in the presence of other youth workers on Saturday 14 March 2020.

A colleague intervened and the matter was reported to management.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today (Friday 21 August 2020).

The woman is currently suspended from duties.

The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
