10 Years Of Labor: No Plan, No Solutions

Tasmanian Government

Labor is fast approaching its 10th year of being in Opposition and failing to deliver an alternative Budget.

But it also presents the 10th opportunity for the Opposition to finally pull the calculator out and try to stumble together some sort of plan or solution to present to Tasmanians.

With just 6 sleeps until their next opportunity, Tasmanians are still waiting with bated breath to find out if Labor will break their tradition, and outline an alternative plan for Tasmania.

We know that Labor had a plan to cut $2 billion from Tasmania’s Budget as part of their election campaign this year, which they couldn’t even release without almost a dozen critical costing errors.

With a new shadow Treasury spokesman in the ranks, Mr Willie will have his first shot to outshine his lacklustre predecessors.

Mr Willie will have an opportunity to tell Tasmanians whether Labor stands by these cuts, and if so, where these savings would come from.

Will they drop their relentless negativity, and stump up an alternative plan? A single solution?

Or will they be shown up by the Greens, once again?

At least the Greens provide a fully costed alternative budget every year.

The 2024-25 Budget will continue our record investments into Tasmania’s essential services, and continue our job-creating $5.1 billion infrastructure agenda.

It delivers on our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future and will make life more affordable.
