2020 Festival of Learning opens 1 September

It’s time to spring back to life post COVID-19! During September, The Living and Learning Steering Group, supported by the Devonport City Council, encourages the community to focus on learning.

This year, the Festival of Learning is a little different, but the Living and Learning Steering Group have put together a blended program of online and face to face learning activities, or celebrations of learning.

The Festival of Learning aims to recognise the learning that is happening in the community, whilst introducing new learning opportunities and raising the profile of learning within the area. Courses available throughout the month include cooking, craft, reading, writing, public speaking, gardening and sustainable living

The Festival embraces learning in many different formats including formal and informal, inside, outside and online events and activities provided by different organisations and individuals, for all ages and stages of life.

Devonport City Council Mayor, Councillor Annette Rockliff, thinks it is important that we embrace life-long learning. “Learning helps to build a better future for ourselves and the community, and the Festival of Learning will provide an opportunity for people to get out and about again and to take advantage of some great learning experiences.”

The 2020 Festival will open on 1st September, with the program available at https://livingandlearningdevonport.com.au/events/
