2024 Pacific Championships Final

The National Rugby League (NRL) has today confirmed the fixture for the 2024 Pacific Championships Final, with four back-to-back matches to be played at CommBank Stadium in Sydney next Sunday (November 10).

The blockbuster quadruple-header will bring together fans from right across the Pacific region with Australia, Tonga, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Samoa all set to feature in the biggest day of international Rugby League ever staged on Australian soil.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said the stage is set for an historic day of international Rugby League.

“The Pacific Championships is becoming the biggest international sporting event in the region,” Mr Abdo said.

“The Final next Sunday not only features four high stakes Test matches, but it will be a celebration of Pacific culture, bringing together fans from five different nations to create a festival atmosphere that has never been seen before in our game.

“It is the perfect opportunity for fans to experience something entirely new as well as seeing the best players in our game representing their country on the international stage,” said Abdo.

After their stunning one-point victory over the Kiwis in Auckland, Tonga will play for the ultimate prize when they meet Mal Meninga’s undefeated Kangaroos in the Men’s Pacific Cup Final at 4:05pm AEDT.

The Kangaroos progressed to the Final after wins over Tonga (18-0) and defending champions New Zealand (22-10) in the round robin stage, while Tonga’s incredible one-point upset over the Kiwis has them on the verge of history.

The Women’s Pacific Cup Final will see a rematch of the 2023 decider, with the Jillaroos hoping to turn the tables on their rivals the New Zealand Kiwi Ferns at 1:50pm AEDT.

The Jillaroos won through to the Final without conceding a point in the round robin stage with an 84-0 defeat of PNG before a hard fought 14-0 win over New Zealand. The Kiwi Ferns joined them in the decider with a 36-0 defeat of the PNG Orchids in Port Moresby today.

The quadruple-header at CommBank Stadum will also feature crucial Men’s and Women’s Promotion-Relegation Playoffs, with the winners to play in the Pacific Cup in 2025.

The 2024 Pacific Championships Final is proudly supported by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.

Tickets start at just $25 for adults and $50 for families and are available now via nrl.com/tickets

All four matches will be broadcast live on the Nine Network, Fox League, Kayo Sports, 9NOW and Sky NZ.
