$30,000 worth of toys recovered after break-ins at Erina, NSW

A man will appear in court charged following the theft of toys from stores on the Central Coast.

Officers from Brisbane Water Proactive Crime Team launched an investigation following break-ins at two toy stores at Erina between September and October 2019.

Following inquiries, officers attended a home on Terrigal Drive, Erina, about 10.30am yesterday (Friday 20 December 2019).

Upon arrival, a man fled from the home. Officers were given consent to search the premises and allegedly seized hundreds of toys. It is estimated the value of the toys seized is approximately $30,000.

About 6pm, a 43-year-old man was arrested when he attended Gosford Police Station. He was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company, two counts of receive stolen property, and breach of bail.

The man was refused bail to appear at Wyong Bail Court via video link today (Saturday 21 December 2019).

The toys have been returned to the stores and are expected to be available for resale during the Christmas period.
