Australia’s world leading health and medical researchers will have a greater chance of discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease, thanks to a new grant from the Morrison Government.
The $32 million investment – through the Researcher Exchange and Development within Industry (REDI) initiative – will boost Australia’s success in turning innovative health and medical research ideas into commercial reality.
MTPConnect was successful in a competitive grant process to help the next generation of health and medical research innovators partner with the medical, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical sectors.
These partnerships will ensure research and ideas are successfully translated into products and practices to save and improve lives.
The Government’s investment will enable more health and medical researchers to have access to the training, skills development, mentors, internships and fellowships to make breakthroughs that will transform health and health care.
The translation and commercialisation of health and medical research and technologies will also boost Australia’s engagement with international markets to grow jobs in this vital part of our economy.
REDI is funded through the Australian Government’s $20 billion MRFF. This long-term investment supports breakthrough Australian health and medical research.
The MRFF aims to transform health and medical research and innovation to improve lives, build the economy, and contribute to health system sustainability.
