The Cook Labor Government has completed another major redevelopment project with upgrades to the Ray Owen Reserve now complete, delivering modern sporting facilities to help support sport across the community.
Backed by a $5 million investment through the WA Recovery Fund, the project has transformed the reserve, complete with an additional playing field, upgrades to the existing oval and new floodlighting across both playing fields.
The redevelopment includes new sustainable irrigation infrastructure from the Hartfield Park Aquifer, helping maintain high-quality playing surfaces while supporting the long-term operation of the reserve.
The project builds on the accessible changeroom upgrades completed in January 2025, further strengthening Ray Owen Reserve as a modern and inclusive sporting precinct.
The redevelopment forms part of the Cook Labor Government’s PlayOn WA initiative, helping deliver 2,030 community sport and recreation infrastructure items across WA by the year 2030.
Ray Owen Reserve now provides local sporting clubs and the wider community with high-quality facilities that will help encourage greater participation in sport and recreation for years to come.
As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti:

“These upgraded facilities will support everything from junior training and weekend competitions through to community events, ensuring the reserve remains a vibrant local meeting place.

Through PlayOn WA, we’re continuing to invest in quality sporting infrastructure that encourages active lifestyles, strengthens communities and helps local clubs thrive.”
