On the ten-year anniversary of the murder of Simon Crisp, police are renewing their call for public information in relation to the person or people responsible.
“Simon Crisp, aged 44, was fatally shot at the rear of the Marrawah Tavern in the early hours of 13 July 2013, and his death has been the subject of an intensive police investigation since that time,” said Detective Inspector Steve Jones.
“The investigation into Simon’s murder is open and ongoing and it will remain so until the matter is resolved and the person or people responsible are brought before the court.
“To date hundreds of people have been spoken to by investigators and a significant number discounted as to their involvement, however, there remains a small number of persons of interest.
“Investigators continue to believe that there are people in the community who have crucial information in relation to who murdered Simon and I implore those people to come forward.
“A reward of up to $500,000 remains on offer for information which leads to the prosecution of the person or people responsible for Simon’s murder.
“10 years have passed since Simon’s death and we are confident that with the passing of time, personal circumstances may have changed that will enable someone to provide the information required to close this case and provide answers for Simon’s family and friends.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Burnie CIB on 131 444 of Crime Stoppers Tasmania. Payment of the reward, or any portion thereof, shall be at the sole discretion of the Commissioner of Police.
