A future beyond bin

Happy National Recycling Week everyone. This year’s theme for National Recycling Week is ‘a future beyond the bin’

While it’s been tricky for us to deliver face-to-face waste and recycling education this year, we’ve been busy working on some exciting initiatives to help give your waste a future beyond the bin and what better time to launch them than National Recycling Week.

A-Z Waste and Recycling Guide

We’ve prepared a comprehensive A-Z list of items and where they can be conveniently donated, recycled, or responsibly disposed.

Bayside Op Shops

We have developed a handy list of op shops in Bayside and surrounding suburbs to make it easy for you give your stuff a new home or shop around for second-hand treasure.

In Australia, about 6,000kgs of clothing and textiles are thrown out every 10 minutes. By donating to and purchasing from op shops, you can help reduce the amount of reusable goods going to landfill, giving them a future beyond the bin.

Community Recycling Stations

Our brand-new community recycling stations are finally here!

Dispose of small e-waste items like batteries, old phones, light bulbs and small cords for free by taking them to one of Bayside’s community recycling stations located in the foyer of Bayside Council’s Corporate Centre (76 Royal Ave, Sandringham) or Beaumaris, Brighton and Sandringham libraries.
