ACT Budget 2026-27: South Tuggeranong Health Centre to deliver care closer to home

The ACT Government is investing in the 2026–27 Budget to support the operation of the new South Tuggeranong Health Centre, ensuring it is ready to deliver essential health services from day one.

More than $4 million has been committed over four years for operational funding for the new facility in Conder, which is scheduled to open later this year.

This funding ensures the new centre can provide accessible care closer to home for south Tuggeranong residents.

Construction of the South Tuggeranong Health Centre is nearing completion, with the facility taking shape on the corner of Box Hill Avenue and Heidelberg Street.

Once open, the centre will deliver a range of appointment-based services, including community paediatrics, diabetes clinics, falls and injury prevention programs, community nursing, multidisciplinary group programs and virtual care.

The facility has been designed in consultation with the community and local clinicians to ensure it meets the needs of Tuggeranong residents, now and into the future.

With modern, flexible clinical spaces and an energy-efficient design, the centre is conveniently located near schools and public transport and will provide a welcoming, patient-centred environment.

It will also work alongside other health facilities, including the nurse-led Tuggeranong Walk-in Centre which has seen more than 245,000 presentations since it opened 12 years ago tomorrow.
