A jobs fair showcasing employment opportunities in the ACT will be held on Friday 27 November 2020.
The ACT Jobs Fair, funded by the Australian Government, will bring together job seekers and local businesses in the ACT and surrounding areas in regional NSW.
Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, said the jobs fair will promote job opportunities across the ACT and the nearby Queanbeyan, Bungendore, Cooma, Goulburn, Yass and Braidwood regions in NSW.
“The ACT Jobs Fair is a must for locals who want to connect with businesses currently recruiting,” Minister Cash said.
“As we see COVID-19 restrictions ease, the Government is committed to connecting job seekers with businesses looking to hire.
“Creating jobs and boosting the skills of Australians to help them get back into work is at the heart of the Australian Government’s COVID-19 recovery plan and 2020-21 Budget.
“Presentations will be held on a range of topics to help people get a job and there will be access to assistance with résumés and interview preparation.”
Senator for Australian Capital Territory, the Hon Zed Seselja, said Canberrans will continue to be front of mind as the Government rebuilds the economy through the COVID-19 pandemic and charts the course to economic recovery.
“The Government is focused on supporting Canberrans to get back to work and businesses to rebuild, grow, and create jobs,” Senator Seselja said.
“The more than $1 billion in new investments announced in the ACT by the Liberal-National Government in the past two years alone has supported local jobs, and boosted our Canberra economy.”
The Australian Government has held jobs fairs in many locations around Australia with more than 42,000 people having attended these events since July 2018.
The ACT Jobs Fair is a free event from 9am (AEDT), with a number of sessions throughout the day until 5pm to ensure COVID-19 safety guidelines are met.
