Additional charges laid after fatal crash in Zetland

Crash investigators have laid additional charges following a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Sydney’s south earlier this year.

About 5.35pm on Tuesday 29 September 2020, emergency services attended the intersection of O’Dea and Gadigal Avenues, Zetland, after reports a motorcycle and bus had collided.

The motorcyclist, a 43-year-old man, was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital, where he died on Wednesday 30 September 2020.

The bus driver, a 63-year-old man, underwent mandatory testing at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital before being taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged. He remains before the courts.

Following further inquiries, investigators charged the man with dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous, and negligent driving occasioning death today (Wednesday 9 December 2020).

The man is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court today.
