Albany Sudden Death Investigation

About 8:40pm last night, Friday 3 November 2023, police were called in relation to several people being on a platform next to a stationary commercial train near the corner of York Street and Proudlove Parade, in Albany.
Albany Police were deployed to the location, and whilst en-route to the scene information was received that a woman may be in distress.
Upon arrival at the scene it was established a woman had entered the engine carriage of the train and was trapped.
The woman had become unresponsive, and was unable to be freed or revived.
Albany Detectives attended the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
The woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
