Altona Meadows and Point Cook burglaries

Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following burglaries in Altona Meadows and Point Cook in July and August.

It’s believed a man attended a medical centre on Queen Street in Altona Meadows about 12.45am on 13 July and used a rock to smash the front door to gain entry.

He rummaged around but left empty handed before walking down the road where he tried to jemmy open the front door of a house on Lady Nelson Crescent but was unable to get in.

A short time later the man approached the front doors of several houses on Edina Grove but left the area when sensor lights were activated.

It’s believed same man forced entry to a business on Murnong Street in Point Cook sometime between 12.30am and 5am on 12 August.

The man stole cash from the register then left through the same broken door, leaving behind a yellow claw hammer.

The man is described as Caucasian, short slightly receding hair, large tattoo on the right side of his neck and walks with a distinctive limp.
