Another man charged over alleged double murder in Guildford – Strike Force Ormerod

A man will face court today charged over his alleged role in the murder of a father and son at Guildford in 2021.

Just before 9am on Wednesday 20 October 2021, emergency services were called to Osgood Street near Woodville Road, Guildford, after reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers from Cumberland Police Area Command located two men – aged 18 and 64 – inside a vehicle suffering gunshot wounds.

The younger man died at the scene, while the older man was taken by NSW Ambulance paramedics to Westmead Hospital, where he later died.

The men were formally identified as father and son, Toufik and Salim Hamze.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad established Strike Force Ormerod to investigate the murders.

Two men – aged 20 and 25 – have previously been charged over their alleged roles in the incident; they remain before the courts.

Following further extensive inquiries, strike force detectives arrested an 18-year-old man at Gosford Police Station about 9.30am yesterday (Thursday 27 April 2023).

He was charged with two counts of murder and one count of participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

Police will allege in court that the man was involved in the planning and coordination of the murder.

The man was remanded in custody and is due to appear at a children’s court today (Friday 28 April 2023).

Investigations under Strike Force Ormerod are continuing.
