Appeal after aggravated break and enter at Tamworth, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance following an alleged break and enter in the state’s northeast overnight.

About 10pm on Tuesday (2 November 2021), a man forced entry into a home on Petra Avenue, Tamworth, armed with a knife.

The man threatened the occupant of the home – a 32-year-old man – demanding cash before fleeing the location.

At the time there was another man at the home, and no one was injured.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.

The man is described as being Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged in their 20s, obese build wearing black shorts and face covered with a navy blue shirt.

As part of inquiries, investigators are urging anyone with information – or dashcam footage from the area at the time – to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
