Appeal after firearms stolen during break-in at Silverton, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance after firearms were stolen during a break and enter in Silverton in the state’s Far West.

Officers attached to Barrier Police District have been told that cash, jewellery, eight rifles, two shotguns and ammunition were stolen from a safe at a home on Stirling Street sometime between Friday 10 December 2021 and Thursday 16 December 2021.

The crime scene has been examined by specialist forensic police and investigations continue.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or suspicious activity in the area – or who has dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area during the mentioned period – to contact Broken Hill Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
