Appeal After Hit And Run At Liverpool

Crash Investigators are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into a hit and run that left a man critically injured in Sydney’s south-west this week.

About 8:30pm on Monday (6 May 2024), emergency services were called to The Hume Highway, Liverpool, following reports a man had been hit by a vehicle.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and found a man lying on the road.

The 62-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

Police established a crime scene which was forensically examined with the assistance of specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit, who have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash under Strike Force Promote.

As inquiries continue, crash investigators have released images of a Mazda 3 and a silver utility, they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The dark coloured Mazda 3 is believed to be missing a driver’s side mirror and the silver utility had blue sign writing along the passenger side.
