Appeal after man hit by truck at Nabiac, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance and dashcam vision as they investigate the death of a man who was hit by a truck on the Mid North Coast early this morning.

About 3.45am (Saturday 5 September 2020), emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, Nabiac, about 20km north west of Forster, after a man was struck by a truck travelling north. He died at the scene.

While the man is yet to be formally identified, he is believed to be aged in his 20s.

The truck driver, a 60-year-old man, was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Manning Great Lakes Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Initial inquiries suggest the man was walking on the highway at the time he was hit.

As investigations continue, police are appealing for any motorists who may have been in the area or who may have dashcam vision, particularly from the Pacific Highway between the Nabiac service station and Woosters Lane, to come forward.
