Police are appealing for public assistance after a driver rammed her car into a police vehicle and fled following a random drug test in Sydney’s west today.
Just before 9.30am (Sunday 7 June 2020), officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting proactive patrols on the Cumberland Highway at Constitution Hill, when they stopped a beige 2007 model SAAB sedan for a random breath test and random drug test.
The female driver allegedly returned a positive reading following the random drug test.
As officers attempted to arrest the woman, she reversed her car towards a male leading senior constable before ramming into a police vehicle twice and speeding away from the area.
No police officers were injured.
An extensive search was conducted across the area; however, the sedan could not be located.
As inquiries continue, officers are appealing for anyone who has seen the 2007 model SAAB sedan, with ACT registration numberplates YFN73H, to come forward.
They are also keen to speak with a woman who has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in her 30s or 40s, between 155cm and 165 cm tall, and with brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information that can assist investigators is urged to come forward.
