Appeal for information after home invasion, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance following a home invasion at Umina Beach yesterday.

Just after midnight (Wednesday 30 January 2019), three unknown men have forced entry into a unit on Trafalgar Avenue, Umina Beach.

Two of the men were allegedly armed with what is believed to be a baseball bat and a knife.

Once inside the unit they allegedly assaulted the occupant, a 44-year-old man, before fleeing the scene on foot. They were last seen running into Gwedonlen Avenue.

The occupant was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Gosford Hospital for treatment for a large laceration to his head, bruising and swelling to his elbow and shoulder. He has since been released from hospital.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District established a crime scene and have commenced investigations.
