Appeal for information following assault and robbery – Tamworth

Investigators are appealing for information after a man was allegedly assaulted and robbed in Tamworth yesterday.

About 11.25am yesterday (Tuesday 25 July 2023), a group of youths – one armed with a knife – approached four males walking along Nancy Street, Tamworth, demanding shoes off one of the males.

One of the men, a 19-year-old, ran from the location and was followed by three youths when he tripped and fell to the ground. The youths kicked and punched the man and stole his jumper, shoes and cash before fleeing on foot.

The man attended Tamworth Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
