Appeal for information following suspicious fire – South Grafton

Police are appealing for information following a suspicious fire at South Grafton earlier this year.

The fire is believed to have been started at the Bligh Street home between 10pm and 11pm on Wednesday 10 January 2024.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews attended and extinguished the fire; however, the building was destroyed.

Officers from Coffs-Clarence Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the blaze.

As part of inquiries, police have released CCTV footage of a man seen in the area at the time of the incident.

The man is depicted in the footage wearing dark clothing and moving with a distinct walk.

Anyone able to recognise the person, or who might have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area withing an hour of the incident, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
