Appeal to locate elderly man missing from Surry Hills

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly man missing from the Sydney CBD.

James (Jim) Malcom, aged 70, was last seen in Surry Hills yesterday (Friday 5 May 2023) afternoon.

When he failed to return home or make contact with family members, he was reported missing to officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command, who commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare due to his age and living with medical conditions requiring daily treatment.

Jim is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, of a solid build, and has short grey hair.

He is wearing a blue chequered flannelette shirt, light green ‘Byron Bay’ t-shirt, and blue jeans.

Jim is believed to be near Central Railway Station.
