Applications invited for Australian Dental Council’s Board of Directors

The Australian Dental Council, the independent accreditation authority for the Australian dental professions, is inviting applications for the organisation’s Board of Directors with three upcoming vacancies available, two in November 2022 and one in February 2023, all due to the expiring tenure of existing members.

Of primary importance to the Board is the values alignment of applicants to the values of the ADC and a willingness to actively contribute to the culture and governance of the organisation.

To be considered for these positions, you will demonstrate the following:

– Thorough understanding of governance and fiduciary duties associated with Board Directorship.

– Ability to contribute strategic thinking to organisational priorities, risk management and business development and growth.

– Well-developed communication and influencing skills, including the ability to build strong networks and professional relationships.

– Commitment to the values and strategic priorities of the ADC.

In addition to the above, mandatory criteria for appointments include:

– GAICD or equivalent, or a willingness to complete.

– A commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural safety, ideally coupled with an understanding of the critical role of cultural safety in improving public health outcomes.
