Small business owners in Campbelltown who are ready to break out of the home office set up can apply for a Business Scholarship to help them take the next step in their entrepreneurial journey.
Applications for the Campbelltown Business Scholarships are open until 11 August.
The scholarship program is run in partnership with the Business Development Centre Macarthur and provides selected businesses with specialised business growth/development training, access to professional support services, one on one mentoring and access to the Centre’s collaboration workspace.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic said the program benefitted the local economy.
“Small businesses are a vital part of the local economy in both Campbelltown and the wider Macarthur region,” said Cr Brticevic.
“Council is helping small businesses to thrive which will enable them to expand their offerings and employ more people locally in the future.”
Business Development Centre’s Macarthur Geoff Ellis said the first year of the scholarship program had been a success.
“Council’s support for this program has been amazing because they’ve recognised the opportunity and worked with us to develop it,” said Mr Ellis.
“Without Council’s support, this scholarship wouldn’t exist, we’ve built this together from scratch” he said.
“We’ve taken the learnings from the first group to come through and will apply that in the next program to come through.”
The first group of Campbelltown Council Business Scholarships, which began in March, saw four local small business owners come through the program.
Previous scholarship recipient Mahesh Trivedi of Steam Executive encouraged other small businesses to apply.
“I got a lot out of this program, there is a lot of shared learning and you have the opportunity to connect with other small businesses and find out what has worked for them,” said Mr Trivedi.

Applications close on 11 August. Successful applicants will be informed between 20 and 22 August and the program begins on 6 September.
