Northern Territory Anti-Discrimination Commissioner Sally Sievers has been appointed to act in the role of Children’s Commissioner for the NT.
Ms Sievers’ appointment to perform the functions of Children’s Commissioner took effect from Wednesday 29 July and will continue until further notice.
During this time Ms Sievers will perform the functions of office for both the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner and Children’s Commissioner.
Ms Sievers has contributed significantly to the Northern Territory having been a lawyer since 1988, practising within government and in private practice, and holding various stints as a Relieving Magistrate.
Ms Sievers was appointed as the Northern Territory Anti-Discrimination Commissioner and Principal Community Visitor in January 2013.
