ARC Linkage Projects: linking research to industry partners

Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Research Council (ARC), Professor Sue Thomas, has today welcomed the approval by Acting Minister for Education and Youth, the Hon Stuart Robert MP, of $24.4 million for 52 new research projects through the ARC’s Linkage Projects.

Linkage Projects promote national and international research partnerships between researchers and business, industry, community organisations and other publicly funded research agencies.

ARC Chief Executive Officer, Professor Sue Thomas said by supporting the development of partnerships, the ARC encourages the transfer of skills, knowledge and ideas as a basis for securing commercial and other benefits of research.

“This new funding is provided to universities across Australia to lead 52 new Linkage Projects that involve significant collaboration between higher education institutions and their partner organisations.

“These projects have 107 national and international partner and industry organisations who will provide a further $36.4 million in cash and in-kind contributions to support excellent research aiming to find solutions to industry challenges,” said Professor Thomas.

More details about all the Linkage Projects announced today are available from the ARC website.
