Carabiner Architects has been selected to design a new classroom block at Kingston Primary School which will provide students with a modern learning environment now and in years to come.
The $2.5 million facility will include four contemporary classrooms for 100 which will replace most of the transportable buildings currently being used at the expanding school.
With the project now in the documentation stage, construction is expected to start in February 2021 with completion expected in January 2022, with local jobs created in the process.
This investment is part of the McGowan Government’s $28 million South West Recovery Plan to upgrade five Western Australian public schools and create job opportunities for local workers.
As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
“We want to create outstanding and inspiring learning spaces for WA students and I know Australind families will be pleased to see how this new building for students develops.
“These new permanent classrooms at Kingston Primary School will serve the school and local families in the long-term.”
As stated by Murray-Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke:
