Caring for a family member, friend or neighbour can be one of life’s most rewarding roles, but it can also be demanding. That’s why we are reminding residents that unpaid carers who live in Bayside can access a range of services and activities through Council’s Carers Support Program.
The program is designed to support carers’ wellbeing, provide opportunities to connect with others, and offer practical assistance when needed.
Help us improve support for Bayside carers 🙏
Whether you’re a regular participant in Council’s Carers Support Program, have attended occasionally, or haven’t used the program at all, we’d love to hear from you.
Your feedback will help us understand what’s working well, identify barriers to participation, and ensure the program continues to meet the needs of Bayside’s unpaid carers. The survey will also help guide how we promote and deliver services, activities and support in the future.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and help shape the future of support for carers in Bayside.
Carers Corner 💖
One of the program’s most popular offerings is Bayside Carers Corner, a welcoming space where carers can take a break, learn something new and meet others with shared experiences. Regular sessions feature guest speakers, engaging activities and a friendly cuppa and chat in a supportive environment.
This Wednesday, come along for a tour of Bayside Art Gallery, followed by a light morning tea where you can connect with other local carers.
For eligible residents, the program also offers respite services, giving carers the opportunity to take some time for themselves while ensuring the person they care for continues to receive support.
