Arrest and extradition over aggravated affray, South Australia

A South Australian man in Victoria has been arrested this morning for attempted murder in connection to the aggravated affray that took place within a licensed premise on Grenfell Street on 13 March 2022.

At about 1.08am on Sunday 13 March, an aggravated affray occurred within a licensed premises on Grenfell Street. Several people within the premises received stab wounds, with two men requiring surgery for life threatening injuries. It will be alleged that during the affray, the arrested man stabbed three people.

Victoria Police with the assistance of the dog squad, executed a search warrant at a Peppercorn Parade address in Epping early this morning arrested a 23-year-old South Australian man.

Detectives from South Australia Police Operation Meld taskforce will arrive in Melbourne tomorrow to apply for his extradition.

The man will attend Melbourne Magistrates Court later today. He will attend the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday 7 April.

This brings the total number of arrests in connection to the incident to 19.
