Arrest made after burglaries at Gisborne

A man has been taken into custody following multiple burglaries in Gisborne last week.

On Wednesday 11 October, Police were alerted to a burglary at a store on Gladstone Road, Gisborne, later that week on Sunday, Police were alerted to another burglary at a restaurant on Bright Street, between the hours of 10pm and 12am 15 October.

Police conducted scene examination’s and viewed CCTV footage at both addresses.

Last night, Gisborne Police arrested a 40-year-old man in Gisborne CBD.

He is due to appear in the Gisborne District Court today, Friday 20 October, on four charges of burglary.

This is a very good outcome for the Gisborne Community and the Volume Crime Team have worked very hard to prevent further offending and hold someone to account.
