Arrest made in Te Awamutu burglary

Attributable to Waikato West Area Prevention Manager Senior Sergeant David Hall:

A man has been arrested following a burglary in Te Awamutu.

In the early hours of Sunday 14 May, a commercial premises on Bond Road was broken into and items worth over $5,000, including shirts and weightlifting equipment, was stolen.

Police executed a search warrant at a residential address in Te Awamutu on Tuesday, where an 18-year-old man was taken into custody and some of the stolen items were recovered.

The man is due to appear in Hamilton District Court today on a burglary related charge.

Police take this type of offending extremely seriously and we work hard to hold offenders to account.
