Arrests, stolen vehicle and property offences in , QLD

Detectives from Hervey Bay Criminal Investigation Branch have arrested three juveniles in relation to a number of property offences allegedly committed in Maryborough on Sunday June 11.

It will be alleged the three juveniles, one aged 15 and two aged 17, unlawfully entered a residence and subsequently stole a Range Rover four-wheel-drive from a home on Albert Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police will allege the vehicle was subsequently used to commit a range of offences in and around the Maryborough and Hervey Bay areas and was sighted driving dangerously by members of the public and police.

Police located the damaged vehicle abandoned on Monday morning and subsequently located and arrested the three alleged offenders on Monday afternoon.

The 15-year-old girl was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, unlicensed driving and breach of bail. She remains in custody and will re-appear at a later date.

Since 2 May 2023, she has been arrested by police on eight separate occasions and charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle, six counts of unlicensed driving, six counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of evade police, four counts of breach of bail, two counts of enter dwelling and commit indictable offence and six counts of fraud.

One 17-year-old girl was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, fraud and stealing. She remains in custody to appear in the Hervey Bay Children’s Court at a later date.

The other 17-year-old girl was charged with one count of enter dwelling and commit an indicatable offence, and was released on bail to appear in the Maryborough Children’s Court at a later time.

Police wish to acknowledge the assistance provided by members of community who sighted the vehicle and occupants.
