Arson investigation at Rangeville

Detectives from Toowoomba Criminal Investigation Branch are appealing for information in relation to a suspicious fire which damaged two vehicles at Rangeville this morning (March 3).

Emergency services were called just before 5am to Rowbotham Street, to reports two vehicles were on fire in a carport.

The fire was brought under control, but both vehicles sustained significant damage.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Initial investigations indicate the fire was deliberately lit, with a male seen leaving the area at the time.

Detectives are treating the incident as targeted, and believe there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The male is described as Caucasian with a slim build, wearing a high-visibility shirt and riding an e-scooter with no helmet.

He was last seen entering Pigott Drive around the time of the incident.

Detectives have conducted extensive enquiries in the area and are currently examining CCTV footage.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, has information or dashcam footage in the area that could assist investigations is urged to contact police.
