Arson investigation at Strathpine and Redbank Plains, QLD

Police are appealing for public assistance following the arson of two restaurants at Strathpine and Redbank Plains early this morning, September 2.

Emergency services were called a Gympie Road restaurant in Strathpine just before 1.30am to reports of a deliberately lit fire.

Upon arrival, the business was located well alight.

Police will allege the property was linked to an earlier fire that occurred at a chain restaurant on Kruger Parade in Redbank Plains at approximately 1.20am.

Members of the public who were nearby at the time were able to safely extinguish the fire before any major damage occurred.

No one was inside either restaurant at the time of the fires.

Investigators believe there may be a link between the two incidents.

Witnesses, or anyone with relevant vision or information regarding either arson, is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
