Ashurst Perkins Coie has advised Copenhagen Infrastructure V (managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners) on its disposal of the Tarchon development stage subsea interconnector project between the UK and Germany.
From completion, Tarchon will be held by a consortium formed of Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and WindGrid, part of the Elia Group.
Tarchon will create a power link between the UK and Germany enhancing energy efficiency and security for both countries on their road to net zero. As a regulated asset, the project is progressing through the relevant regulatory approval processes in the UK and Germany, having been granted a cap and floor regime in principle in 2024.
