ASIC suspends AFS licence of Central Accord Pty Ltd for 6 months

ASIC

ASIC has suspended the Australian financial services (AFS) licence of Central Accord Pty Ltd (AFS licence 226405) until 4 February 2027. The suspension took effect on 30 July 2026.

The licence was suspended because Central Accord Pty Ltd is no longer carrying on a financial services business. If Central Accord Pty Ltd is in a position to recommence its financial services business before the expiration of the suspension, it may make submissions to ASIC requesting that the suspension order be revoked.

Pursuant to s915B(3)(a) of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) (Corporations Act), ASIC may suspend or cancel an AFS licence held by a body corporate if the body corporate ceases to carry on a financial services business.

Central Accord Pty Ltd may apply to the Administrative Review Tribunal for a review of ASIC’s decision.

Background

Central Accord Pty Ltd has held AFS Licence 226405 since 28 March 2003.

Central Accord Pty Ltd first came to ASIC’s attention after the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) notified ASIC that Central Accord Pty Ltd had been expelled as an AFCA member for failing to pay invoices more than 12 months overdue. Under s912A(2)(c) of the Corporations Act, a financial services licensee is required to have membership of the AFCA scheme.
