Assault police incident – Woodridge

Police are seeking to locate this man who they believe could assist them with their investigation into the serious assault of two police officers at Woodridge overnight.

Around 7.15pm two police officers attended a North Road unit to speak to the man.

At the residence it is alleged the man became aggressive and began punching both police officers to the head area before fleeing the scene.

One of the officers has sustained a fractured nose, injury to her lower lip and bruising with the second officer sustaining bruising to her face and blurred vision.

Both officers were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment to their injuries and have since been released.

The man police would like to speak to is described as 44 years of age, 185cm tall with an average build, brown/grey hair and brown eyes.

He is believed to be travelling in a silver coloured 2006 model Jeep bearing Tasmania registration plates H16SH with a snorkel on the driver’s side.

Police are asking members of the public not to approach the man but to contact police if they see him or the vehicle.
