Attempted ATM theft at Penfield, South Australia

Police are investigating an attempted theft from an ATM at Penfield overnight.

Alarms activated at the ATM located at a bottleshop on Stebonheath Road, Penfield just after 12.30am on Monday 20 January.

Police attended and found that someone had smashed the front of the ATM with a sledgehammer or similar in an attempt to break into it. Entry was not gained and nothing stolen, but extensive damage was caused to the machine.

Crime scene investigators will attend the scene this morning.
