Attempted murder charges in Kelvin Grove, QLD

Brisbane City detectives have charged a man with attempted murder following a balcony fall in Kelvin Grove on Thursday night which resulted in a young woman sustaining serious injuries.

It will be alleged the man and woman, who are known to each other, where arguing at a Franklin Street unit. Around 11.30pm, the woman was on the balcony when the man allegedly pushed her over the railing causing her to fall approximately four metres to the ground.

The 18-year-old woman suffered significant head injuries and was transported the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

A 27-year-old Kelvin Grove man has been charged with four domestic violence offences; attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, grievous bodily harm and contravene a domestic violence order.

He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today, March 5.
