As part of Australia’s biggest week in biotech, clinical trial luminaries connected over dinner as part of a new initiative to celebrate the strength and success of Australia’s network.
The ‘Connecting Australia’s clinical trials sector’ dinner, held on October 31, brought together 40 professionals from across Australia, and from across the diverse sector.
The pilot event was identified by AusBiotech’s Clinical Trial Advisory Group as a way to connect this specialist segment of the life science ecosystem, and was hosted in Brisbane the evening before Australia’s largest life science event, AusBiotech 2023.
The dinner provided an opportunity for those working in the clinical trials sector to network informally and celebrate the collective success of Australia’s clinical trial sector. Attendees also received an update from AusBiotech on the policy and advocacy work underway, particularly as it relates to the clinical trials sector.
Australia offers a world class clinical trials ecosystem, and AusBiotech has been promoting and advocating for more than a decade to keep it in its principal position. Commencing over 1,000 clinical trials annually and employing more than 8,800 people, the sector represents an AU$1 billion industry investment.
After the success of the AusBiotech 2023 clinical trials sector dinner, which resulted in a waitlist, AusBiotech will be hosting a dinner for the clinical trials sector prior to AusMedtech 2024, taking place in Adelaide from May 22-23.
