Australia’s leading platform for launching clean energy startup companies has opened applications for its Incubation Program in Lismore on the NSW North Coast, Hobart and Canberra.
In 2017, EnergyLab launched its Acceleration Program, the first in Australia focused entirely on helping startups working on innovations to shift Australia to a 100% clean energy future. Two years on, EnergyLab is expanding its reach to support a growing number of Australian entrepreneurs.
Funded by the Australian Government, the program aims to support startups to develop the capabilities required to succeed in Australian and international markets.
“EnergyLab’s vision is to support clean energy entrepreneurs no matter where they live.” said EnergyLab Co-Founder James Tilbury. “Thanks to support from the Australian Government we are now able to roll out our Incubation Program to Hobart, Canberra and Lismore.”
The Southern Cross Enterprise Lab, based at Southern Cross University, will host the program in Lismore. Participants from south-east Queensland and Northern NSW are welcome.

Combined with the University’s impact agenda, we want to combine innovative solutions-oriented thinking to the big challenges of our region. Creating a clean energy future for the Northern Rivers is one of these critical challenges.”
The EnergyLab Incubation Program is designed to cater to the unique needs of clean energy startups. Startups will be accepted into each program on a rolling basis and successful applicants will receive a host of support including up to 10 months free co-working space, access to EnergyLab’s network of mentors, legal and accounting advice and tailored workshops on startup fundamentals.
Applications for the first intake of the Incubation Program in Lismore, Hobart and Canberra close Sunday 24 March 2019. Selected startups will be announced in April before the launch of the program in each city in May.
