Bay Discovery Centre lift to close for repairs

If you’re visiting Glenelg’s Bay Discovery Centre over the next five weeks, please note that the lift will be temporarily closed while essential repairs are undertaken.

The maintenance work will begin on Monday 16 October and is expected to be completed by Friday 17 November 2023.

During this time the lift will be closed to the public.

The ground floor gallery and Visitor Information Outlet will still be accessible to all members of the community, with additional children’s activities on the ground floor.

While the main floor, mezzanine level and public toilets in the Bay Discovery Centre remain open, they can only be accessed via the stairs.

Disabled and accessible public toilets are located on the northern side of the building, between the Glenelg Town Hall and The Beachouse.

The temporary lift closure will also impact on two council meetings which are usually held at the Glenelg Town Hall.

The meetings scheduled for 24 October and 14 November 2023 will instead be held at the Brighton Civic Centre to ensure they are accessible to all members of the community.
